Boone Custody Alerts Use MOVANS
Missouri DPS points local custody searches to MOVANS. The service covers court events, local jail detention, and Missouri Department of Corrections custody. Each category gets its own search. VINELink still serves as a public search and registration surface in the transition material. Old bookmarks can break. When one fails, begin at the state page. These tools differ from Boone County's roster. The county roster supplies current booking and charge fields, while MOVANS adds search and notification functions built on participating data. Court registration may sit apart from local-jail registration, and Missouri DOC handles people under active state supervision. The official Missouri MOVANS screen shows the local-custody entry point.
One search never covers every jail and prison in Missouri.
Check Boone Custody After Arrest
Begin with the official Boone Current Detainees list or the Arrests Last 24 Hours report. Both come straight from the county. Either one shows whether a fresh booking record exists. You also get spelling, agency, booking time, and case context.
- Open MOVANS or VINELink and select Missouri.
- Choose local jail or detention custody for a Boone County Jail search.
- Enter the name or identifier requested by the live form.
- Compare every available identifier when several people match.
- Open the matching record and use the registration option if offered.
A name alone is weak proof. Match status, facility, and identifier against the county record. If custody later moves to the state, the Missouri DOC Offender Search covers active DOC supervision, though it is not a county arrest feed. The public VINELink search shows the state-selection screen.
Follow current Missouri DPS instructions after state system updates.
What Boone VINELink Results Mean
Fields depend on the contributing system and current interface. Read them as custody status data, not a full arrest report or court judgment.
| Result item | Proper use |
|---|---|
| Name or offender identifier | Match the intended person with more than a name. |
| Custody status | A reported state that can lag a new event. |
| Facility | The participating jail or correctional location reporting custody. |
| Release or transfer event | A notice to confirm with the responsible agency. |
| Court event | A separately registered case notice, not a jail update. |
| Notification choice | Current local-jail delivery by SMS or email. |
Custody status is not a case outcome. For disposition, use Missouri CaseNet instead. That court record answers what a Boone arrest record cannot.
Register Boone Custody Notifications
Missouri changed its local-jail notification process in May 2026. Local-jail users must create a new registration and choose SMS text or email. Phone-call and VINELink-app alerts are gone. Older brochures that describe telephone PINs are historical and should not guide a new registration.
- Find and verify the correct person in the local-jail search.
- Select the notification or registration control on that record.
- Choose SMS or email and enter current contact information.
- Complete any confirmation required by the live system.
- Create separate registrations for court, local-jail, or DOC events when needed.
The official post-transition DPS notice controls current mechanics. MOVANS support sits at movans@dps.mo.gov or (573) 526-1929. Weekday hours run 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. DOC questions go to victims@doc.mo.gov or (573) 526-6516. The Missouri DPS transition notice documents re-registration and the current delivery choices.
That notice supersedes legacy phone and app instructions for local-jail alerts. Save the registration confirmation. Check which custody category you picked. A local-jail registration does not follow someone into Missouri DOC custody automatically. A court-event registration serves a different purpose. When the responsible system changes, verify the new record first. Then create the matching registration there.
Use an address that can receive your chosen delivery method. Keep it current. Missouri's transition guidance does not promise an alert at the exact moment an event occurs. Treat the message as one signal. If timing affects an immediate safety decision, do not wait. Confirm the event with the jail, MOVANS support, or the agency named in the result.
Empty Boone MOVANS Results
An empty search can mean the local jail is offline. Missouri DPS says so directly. That result does not prove a person is free or never booked, and a new arrest can precede the data transfer to the service.
The sheriff's office lists no Boone jail-roster mobile app. Smart911 or Rave is a general emergency-notification service, not an arrest alert. Missouri DPS also states that MobilePatrol and Missouri Sheriff Connect have no DPS or MOVANS affiliation. Federal custody runs through the Bureau of Prisons locator. ICE custody has its own locator. Neither joins Boone County MOVANS, and the Boone arrest source overview separates county, state, federal, and court records.
Boone Alert Events Have Limits
Missouri material describes events such as release, transfer, escape, return to custody, death, parole, and court activity. Choices vary by system and record. One Boone jail alert does not enroll the same person for every court or later DOC event. A notice is a prompt to verify, not a certified custody record. Delivery can lag. Contact data can be wrong, and messages can fail. Keep SMS and email details current. When safety depends on timing, confirm the event with the responsible office. Release does not resolve the case. It means the person left that custody state, and bond, transfer, a court order, or another reason may explain it; Case.net supplies later disposition.
County Jail Versus Missouri DOC
Boone County Jail and Missouri DOC mark two stages. A new local booking belongs in the county report. Someone on state supervision needs a DOC search, though MOVANS can support both even as its categories and registrations differ.
| Question | Starting point |
|---|---|
| Recent Boone booking? | 07:00 Report |
| Held locally now? | Current Detainees |
| Custody notices? | MOVANS registration |
| Active state supervision? | Missouri DOC search |
| Case outcome? | Case.net or circuit clerk |
DOC search covers active state supervision only. Discharged offenders face separate rules. The system is not a Boone booking feed. It cannot say who entered the county jail today, and it cannot replace the Sheriff's current-detainee list. A blank DOC result does not rule out a local arrest. The person may never have entered state custody, may have left the searchable DOC population, or may simply remain at the county stage.
Boone Custody Support Contacts
MOVANS support can separate a search problem from an offline jail. Weekday business hours apply to movans@dps.mo.gov and (573) 526-1929. DOC notification questions go to victims@doc.mo.gov or (573) 526-6516.
For a local booking, call the Boone County Sheriff's Office. The number is (573) 875-1111. The office sits at 2121 County Drive, Columbia, Missouri 65202. Office hours run weekdays, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., but jail intake and release run around the clock.
Smart911 and Rave push general emergency information. Sheriff social media covers selected events. Neither handles person-specific custody notification the way MOVANS does.
Note: Roster, records, and MOVANS contacts verify custody, but 911 remains the only channel for an emergency.
Boone County domestic-violence materials name victim notification as a local resource. Old contact instructions can outlast a system change. Current registration and delivery rules should come from the 2026 Missouri DPS notices. A retired phone workflow should not be your source.
Registration reveals no sealed information. It guarantees no instant message. Save the confirmation and review the selected event types. Register again whenever the person moves to a different custody system.
Separate Boone Court Alert Registration
Missouri notification material separates court events from custody events. A Boone County Jail record with release or transfer notices does not register the related 13th Judicial Circuit case. MOVANS offers both paths, so review each registration and confirm which events and delivery address were selected.
The booking case number helps link the systems. Case.net may later show a filed charge, appearance, continuance, plea, dismissal, judgment, or sentence. A court notice tracks that case. It does not confirm physical custody with the jail, MOVANS, or Missouri DOC.
Keep separate records for jail, court, and DOC registrations. When an alert arrives, note its time and named event, then check the responsible official source. Transfers add a wrinkle. One agency stops reporting as another begins. That split is normal. It signals neither a missing arrest nor an automatic release.
